Did A Player Ask Nikita Luther To LEAVE The Table At EPT?

Spartan Poker Pro Nikita Luther was grinding at the European Poker Tour (EPT) 2022 Barcelona. The diva was out of the EPT Main Event race and had previously finished at the 16th spot in the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Barcelona 2022 Main Event. While we are super proud of Luther for her performance at ESPT, there’s something else too that caught our eye. What? Read on to find out.

Luther shared a post on her Instagram stories stating how a foreign player asked her where she’s from to which the Adda52 Colossus Aug 2022 Main Event runner-up replied saying India. The former reverted by saying she should go back and that nobody wants her there. Luther’s post read: Had a few hands to 3b start of the day and cold 4b this dude. He calls and loses the pot postflop. Asks me where I’m from. I say India and he’s like you should go back, nobody wants you here.” (sic)

This led to many fans and followers of Luther feeling that our pro was a victim of a racial insult. But, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner later shared an update on the matter wherein she revealed what actually happened. Luther took to her Instagram to clear the air and explained in detail what the matter was about. 

In her Instagram post Luther stated, “Guys my previous post completely blew out of proportion. His name is Jason, seems like a nice guy. I misunderstood the situation. He said that because I was tough to play against and meant it as a joke. He would’ve said that if I mentioned any other nationality too. Was an in-the-moment ‘stop crushing’ jest. He actually works with pads and they work with Indians too. @pads1161 (Patrick Leonard) texted me to vouch for him and I believe both of them. Complete misunderstanding on my part since I never interacted with him before and didn’t catch the tone. 🙏”
