Christopher Kruk Wins MILLIONS North America $25k HR

Another couple of events have concluded at the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America, and two new winners have taken home big prize monies. After David Eldridge won the $10k High Roller event, the focus then turned to the $25k High Roller, where a lot of the same names took part.

USA’s Darren Elias was the chip leader for quite a while but ultimately finished in third. Similarly, Victor Ramdin who lost in heads up in the $10k HR, finished 6th here. The CAD 1 million guarantee was passed, and the event was shipped by local boy Christopher Kruk, who took home CAD 375,000 (~$293,590) for first place.

Kruk now has over $2.3 million in live poker earnings in a career spanning less than 5 years. Given the high buy-in of this event, there were just 47 entries and the top 7 of them were paid out, with a minimum cash of CAD 60,000. Reaching heads up with Kruk was USA’s Anthony Zinno, who is vastly experienced with over $7 million in live poker earnings.

Poker pros Joao Simao and Viktor Blom were also present on Day 2, but Simao busted early while Blom turned out to be the bubble-boy, getting eliminated in 8th place. Both players tried but couldn’t gain a significant advantage over the other. Both went all-in for the final hand – Zinno held pocket sevens and Kruk had A-5. The board saw 2 pairs and Zinno’s 7-7 became insignificant, giving Kruk the pot and the title, with A-high.

Final results:

  1. Christopher Kruk – CAD 375,000 (~INR 1.94 crore)
  2. Anthony Zinno – CAD 234,750
  3. Darren Elias – CAD 165,000
  4. Chance Kornuth – CAD 125,000
  5. Niall Farrell – CAD 100,000
  6. Victor Ramdin – CAD 80,000
  7. John Krpan – CAD 60,000

The $1,100 Open Event was also taking place and after 3 days of grinding, Canada’s Karim-Olivier Kamal was crowned champion, for which he took home CAD 210,000, which was much higher than his total live poker earnings of $31k prior to this tournament. He beat countryman Kauvsegan Ehamparam in heads up play.
