Chris Brice wins UK Poker Championships Main Event


The four-day partypoker LIVE Poker UK Championships Main Event ended with Chris Brice being crowned winner. With his first recorded victory, the Brit pocketed £187,500, leaving Daniel Clark in second place with £115,000 while Super High Roller winner Steven Morris remained fifth with a prize of £40,000.

The prestigious tournament was held at the Dusk Till Dawn Cardroom and Casino in Nottingham where 1,076 entries were recorded for the £1,100 Main Event with a prize pool of £1,043,720. The winner, 39-year-old Chris Brice, managed to eliminate Clark in a heads-up battle that lasted 20 hands. This is the best result from a live tournament for both Clark and Brice, who until now, have not had a victory.

Brice lives in Cheltenham and shortly after the end of the event, he spoke highly of the championship and the organization. Brice admitted he had made a couple of errors, commenting his performance throughout the four-day partypoker LIVE Poker UK Championships Main Event. Despite those mistakes, however, he made it to Day Four and he was one of the thirteen players going for the £187,500 first prize. The winner said he had a smooth play on the final day, a difficult table with tough opponents but his good decisions had won him the title.

The 2018 partypoker LIVE Poker UK Championships Main Event started Thursday with over a thousand players at the Dusk Till Dawn Cardroom and Casino, Nottingham, which has hosted some of the largest poker festivals in Europe. Besides Brice, the final table featured Daniel Morgan who was a chip leader since Day Three and ended sixth with a prize of £30,000. Clark came second winning £115,000 after a heads-up match with Brice that ended with Clark’s Ace-King hand being eliminated by Pocket Kings, while the third spot was for Thomas Hemming who took home £75,000.
