On Sunday, poker players across the country had all their attention on The Spartan Poker, where the Spartan Super Series (SSS) was playing out its last day, and Dhawal Lachhwani was the biggest winner on the day, shipping the Main Event for a prize in excess of twenty lakh rupees.
For those not in India, The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) was something to look forward to in the Kings Casino, Rozvadov. It was the inaugural edition of this series and quite a few Indian players bagged cashes here, with affordable buy-ins as much as those found in Indian tournaments.
The TIPS NLH Bounty Event was a 1-day event that took place on Sunday, 19 August, with a buy-in of €60+€30 and a guaranteed prize pool of €8000. The guarantee was passed with 102 entries (79 unique + 23 re-entries) registering and a new prize pool of €8,721 (~INR 7 lakh) being generated.
The tournament was shipped by French player Soufiane Jardi, who outlasted this field to take away the top prize of €1,555, while three Indian players cashed out in this tournament. A total of 11 players finished in the money and Prashant Malik was the first Indian to cash out, finishing 10th for €142 (~INR 11,400).
The next Indian to hit the rail was Anurag Shah, who finished in 8th place for €212 (~INR 17,000). Players from several countries were a part of the final table and India’s Chetan Jain made a deep run, finishing in third place for €725 (~INR 58,200).
