‘cbsaikumar’ is SSS Event #5 winner on Spartan

The Spartan Super Series (SSS) kicked off yesterday on The Spartan Poker and after a few tournaments, the last event of the day was shipped by ‘cbsaikumar’ for INR 2,09,475. The champion defeated 399 entries in the tournament and he was handsomely rewarded for this achievement.

This tournament followed the Mega Freeze tournament and ended proceedings for the day, with a whole lot of excitement still to follow during the week in the SSS series. Here, ‘cbsaikumar’ outlasted all entries and beat ‘showstopper89’ in heads-up, who won the runner-up prize of INR 1,46,633.

Gutshot caught up with cbsaikumar after he shipped this tournament. He said, “It was a very exciting experience. The Spartan Poker has a very good user interface to play and I am glad that I won this tournament. I participated newly in SSS. Initially I lost some buy-ins because of bad beats. Then, I just wanted to give it a last try. Finally, I ended with a super smile on my face.”

The final hand of the tournament was played in Level #50 with the blinds running 15,500/31,000 – 3,100. Here, both players held an Ace each and hit Aces and Nines on the board. However, cbsaikumar ended victorious with a higher kicker, Jack.
