‘biglooser007’ ships The Elite on Spartan

Featured tournaments on The Spartan Poker are always competitive and fun, with some of the best poker pros in the country taking part each day. The INR 15 lakh GTD Elite is one of their featured tournaments played every Friday and this tournament has a slightly steeper buy-in, meant for poker’s elite.

The INR 11,000 buy-in tournament kicked off yesterday at 7:30pm IST and as expected, it was a long grind of over seven hours before the field could whittle down to a winner. This field included 213 entries which smashed the INR 15 lakh guarantee and created a new prize pool of INR 21.3 lakh.

The top 20 places were paid out in the tournament with a minimum cash prize of INR 28,542 and the player who came out on top of the field is ‘biglooser007’ who plays on the FTRPoker platform. It was a great effort from him and he was handsomely rewarded for the same, adding INR 5,11,200 to his poker bankroll.

The final hand was played in Level #39 with the blinds at 10,000/20,000 – 2,500, and biglooser007 had nearly a 3:1 chip lead over his opponent ‘cosco11’. The flop opened 6d 4d 7h and cosco11 decided to go all-in with 8h Th, with a straight draw and needing running hearts for a flush.

Qc opened on the turn and Kc on the river, with cosco11 not able to improve on his hand, while biglooser007 had 7c Ac, hitting a pair of Sevens on the flop itself, which was enough to take down the pot and the title. cosco11 had to settle for the runners-up prize of INR 3,47,190.

Gutshot caught up with the winner after this tournament. He said, “It was an exciting tournament with a really good strucutre. I had a pretty good stack and was leading near the bubble. I entered the final table second in chips and waited for my chance till heads-up to take a shot at winning, which worked well”

Finishing in third place was popular pro Shravan Chhabria aka ‘D.Trump04’ who makes regular appearance on final tables in Spartan tournaments. Here, he added INR 2,28,975 to his poker bankroll and continues his good run in online poker and on Spartan in particular. Gutshot caught up with Chhabria for a comment on the same. He said, “Well, the last few days were really good on Spartan, even though I couldn’t close both, I managed a 3rd place in The Flash and Elite… Good luck to all my friends for the big Sunday.”
