Austin Yoo And Jason Liu Banned By Big Bet Poker After On-Air Threats Hurled

A live-streamed broadcast of the new Bally’s Big Bet Poker Live show gave us some of the worst trash talk (physical altercation as well) on the poker table, which resulted in a ban for two players. Austin Yoo and Jason Liu were banned after the duo was involved in a confrontation which began with violent threats and non-stop f-words being hurled. The verbal fight became physical which led to the stream being paused by the producers.

The incident took place during Wednesday’s episode and started off after Liu began causing trouble during a major hand between him and another player called Pot Monster. Keir Sullivan sat in the middle of the raging fire between Yoo and Liu (he looked pretty helpless).

During the hand, Liu continued to talk trash, which saw him state how he was bipolar and did not give a fu*k about the money or anything else as such. Yoo wasn’t backing out either. He gave it back by stating that he will fu*k Liu’s mother and torture her in front of him. Yoo also threatened to kill Liu. The producers stepped in to stop the verbal fight but it looks like both players weren’t backing out.

Liu also said, “I do mushrooms and molly every day,” before speaking about how he was bipolar, schizophrenic and was beaten regularly as a child. As the talk returned to drugs, Liu again engaged in a conversation with Yoo stating, “I don’t need your drugs. I make them.”

The situation quickly escalated as Liu challenged Yoo for a fight which the latter agreed to, having decided to ‘take the matter outside’ once the stream ended. The show’s producer tried to keep both the players in check, which led to Yoo exploding and making physical threats to Liu and his mother.

Twitter handle @HighrollPoker posted an 11-minute long video that shows Liu-Yoo’s hand. Poker pro Matt Berkey also posted a video on Twitter which displays the peak of the confrontation.

Big Bet Poker Live ended up issuing a more generic statement confirming  Liu and Yoo’s bans. The statement also went on to affirm how the show’s main aim is to create a safe atmosphere for everyone involved.
