Ashish Munot ships The Endeavour on PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi is one of the Indian online poker sites where there is no shortage of high-stakes tournaments. They host a feature tournament every day of the week and have become quite popular among the poker players in India. The MoneyMaker, their Sunday feature tournament itself is a huge INR 1 Crore GTD tournament and attracts a lot of grinders from across the country.

Their Tuesday’s feature tournament is The Endeavour INR 10 Lakhs GTD and is one of the popular ones on their platform. Last night’s Endeavour attracted a huge playing field of 466 entries (174 re-entries) who individually coughed up the INR 3,850 buy-in and created a massive prize pool of INR 16,31,000, justifying the popularity of this tournament.

The tournament started at 8 pm last evening and got over by 3:13 am today morning. The winner to slash through the vast field after over a 7-hour grind was the well-known player Ashish Munot aka ‘OMG_spew’. He took home a good 19% of the prize pool, INR 3,09,890, as 1st place cash prize. He defeated ‘Infernape’ in the final duel who also bagged a sizeable INR 2,28,340 as runner-up prize.

The winner, Munot, is a well-accomplished Indian player, having tried his hand at live poker and shipping a few as well. Amongst his recent online wins, he won a big Spartan Super Series (SSS) tournament, taking home upwards of INR 4.4 Lakhs in cash.

Munot has already shown that he’s a good player in the past, but his recent wins show he knows no bounds and will be looking to continue this trend in the next year too. Out of the top 47 places being paid (minimum cash – INR 8,155), there were a few known players in the ranks too. Finishing 7th was the one of the winners on SSS Day 1, Nishaanth Shanmughasundaram aka ‘shanni’ who took home INR 48,930.
