Arsh Grover takes down Sunday Stacks for 2.55 Lakh

9Stacks is an online poker company that has been stepping up their game in the last few months as there’s a lot of competition with poker slowly spreading through the country. A number of poker companies have started operations in the last year or two, but very few manage to stay alive in the long run.

One of them who seem to be settling in pretty quick is 9Stacks, a company that raised over INR 21 crore in a round of funding less than a couple of months back. Since then, they’ve launched quite a few promotions, including the Aussie 100 where they will send 100 players to the upcoming Aussie Millions 2019, with 15 already having won their seats.

Every Sunday, the website hosts the INR 10 lakh GTD Sunday Stacks tournament with a buy-in of INR 5,500 and a kick-off time of 5pm. Plenty of top Indian players participate in the tournament each week and this time wasn’t much different, with 136 players joining and 47 re-buys being made by the end of the time period allocated.

The player who outlasted this field doesn’t believe in small wins, as he is a big timer. Yes, the winner turned out to be Arsh Grover aka ‘BigggTymeR’, who decided to ship this major Sunday grind tournament and take away all the glory, along with the massive first-place prize of INR 2,55,000.

25 top players were paid out and from them, the top 3 received 6-figure pay-outs, with Grover taking away the biggest pay-check. Gutshot caught up with him after this victory and he said, “9Stacks is doing a pretty good job stepping their tournaments up for the weekends. It was a good structure and I ran good enough to get the W.”

In heads-up, he beat Ashutosh Pandey aka ‘indianpro’ who also received a decent prize amount of INR 1,75,000 for finishing second. Siddharth Karia aka ‘Schemer77’ was another top player in the mix, hitting the rail in 8th place.
