Arjanveer Chadha wins SSS Elite High Roller on Spartan

What can we say about this player? Arjanveer Singh Chadha aka ‘instrumental’ is on a roll across all major online poker platforms in India. In the last month or two, he has taken down several poker titles on The Spartan Poker alone, along with wins on other platforms like Adda52. He has been generating some great profits from the game and yesterday was another major addition to his poker bankroll.

Yesterday was Day 5 of the ongoing Spartan Super Series (SSS) and Arjanveer Chadha was in the news once again after winning SSS Event #7 a couple of days back. Every Friday, Spartan hosts The Elite for poker’s elite group, and yesterday’s tournament was upgraded to SSS #25 The Elite High Roller INR 45 Lakh GTD, with a big buy-in of INR 27,500 and a massive guaranteed prize pool of INR 45 lakh especially for the SSS series.

Even with this steep buy-in, we saw the guarantee being smashed and an even bigger prize pool of INR 57.5 lakh being generated. Chadha has been having a great 2018 so far and he is automatically a favourite when it comes to the top tournaments. However, this turned out to be his biggest ever win, shipping the tournament and taking away the mega top prize of INR 13,22,500.

The tournament saw a field of 230 entries and from these, the top 24 players were paid out a min-cash of INR 57,500. Chadha beat ‘Soyasauce’ in heads-up and this player wouldn’t be too disheartened either, winning a pretty big prize himself for finishing second – INR 8,88,375. In the final hand, Chadha held 2d 3s and checked till the turn even though he hit a full house on the 3c 2h 7h 3d board. Eventually, he beat his opponent’s Nines and Threes.

Also on the final table were Anirban Das aka ‘pokernoob’, another extremely consistent player who won INR 6,03,750 for finishing third and Vinay Choudhry aka ‘Dhanraj Seth’ who has been having a brilliant SSS so far, already having won two titles. He finished 5th for INR 3,50,750.

Gutshot caught up with Chadha after he took down this major tournament on Spartan. He said, “It has been a wonderful year for me, doing well in most MTTs on various websites. However, something was still missing. An elusive title. I came close in The Millionaire but I bubbled the FT there. It was a big downer, but I kept going. I knew it wasn’t far away. Today we did it. Shipped The Elite HR for my biggest score ever. It feels amazing.”
