APT VSOP 2022: Fisher Wins Championships Event, Bothra Finishes Third


The highly anticipated Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Festival 2022 Championships Event has come to an end with New Zealand’s Slade Fisher clinching the title. Fisher dominated the final table from the start and made his way to the top to become the newest Championships Event winner.

Fisher took home a whopping first place prize of VN₫ 2,298,440,000 which is the biggest payout in the entire series. He also walked away with an APT Championships trophy and ring. Upon winning, Fisher stated, “I feel elated, excited, and happy!” The runner-up was Kevin Lim who walked away with VN₫ 1,532,270,000.

At the start of the final table, it was Deepak Bothra who was leading with 653,000 chips however, by the end, Bothra finished in the third position for VN₫ 1,065,210,000. APT Hanoi Loyal 2022 ME winner Shardul Parthasarathi was eliminated in the fourth place for VN₫ 769,380,000. Spartan Poker Pro Zarvan Tumboli had reached the final table with the shortest stack and busted in the eighth position for VN₫287,310,000.

Indians Grinding In Side Events

APT Summer Festival 2022 also concluded its final side events with many of India’s finishing on the final table. The Super High Rollers was the second biggest event of the day with a buy-in of VN₫ 86,000,000. The event generated a final prize pool worth VN₫ 4,112,800,000 and welcomed a total of 53 entries. The tournament was shipped by Ngyuen Quang Huy for VN₫ 1,249,700,000. There were nine players who made it to the final table. Among them were Indian players Nishant Sharma who finished in the runner-up position for VN₫ 833,140,000, Akshay Nasa who busted in 5th place for VN₫ 312,850,000, and Siddhanth Kripalani finished 8th place for VN₫ 156,220,000.

The Monster Stack was a two-day event and pulled in a crowd of 160 total entries. The buy-in of the tournament was VN₫ 16,500,000 and in the end the prize pool shot up to VN₫ 2,328,000,000. The event was shipped by Le Dinh Hai for VN₫ 402,430,000. Among the players on the final table was Jasven Saigal who finished in 3rd place for VN₫ 371,000,000. APT title winner Kamal Kumar Sogani was in fourth for VN₫ 179,850,000. Poker pro Kanchan Sharma made it to the FT and finished in 5th place for VN₫ 134,500,000. Ritwik Khanna also made the FT and went home with a pay cheque of VN₫ 82,430,000 for his 8th place finish.

The last event of the series was the High Rollers Single Day which was clinched by Hao Seo for VN₫ 527,330,000. The buy-in of the event was VN₫ 43,000,000 and the prize pool was VN₫ 1,880,000,000. Only one Indian made it to the FT of this event and that was Kanchan Sharma. She finished in 6th place for VN₫ 110,560,000.
