Following the success in Taipei in February and South Korea in April, this live poker giant returns to Taiwan with APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 offering a series guarantee of TWD 150 Million (~$4.6 Million). This prestigious 11-day live poker event promises an exciting lineup for all Asian poker enthusiasts.

The APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 will run between 27th September to 7th October 2024, at two prime locations in Taipei, the Asia Poker Arena and the Chinese Mahjong League. The series will host 114 events, including the TWD 50K buy-in Main Event with a massive TWD 65 Million GTD (~$2 Million) guaranteed prize pool. Other highlights include the TWD 300,000 Super High Roller and the TWD 110,000 High Roller: both boasting impressive prize pools.

India poker players travelling from metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai have several affordable flight options. Players from tier 2 cities like Pune, Lucknow and Goa also have options to make it to Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport. While there are no direct flights to Taipei, International carriers like VietJet Air, Vietnam Airlines, Batik Air, Thai Air Aisa and a few others operate one-stop flights to this destination. Domestic airline IndiGo operates direct flights to Hong Kong, thereafter you will have to board a connecting flight via a local airliner.

APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 Visa Requirements

All India passport holders will need to obtain a valid visa before their travel to Taipei. The price for a tourist visa for Indians would approximately cost ₹3,800 to ₹11,300 depending on whether it is a single-entry or multiple-entry visa. Here is the list of documents required for a tourist visa application to Taiwan.

• A completed and signed application form (One can retrieve this form from the website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/) 
• Original Old and new passports
• The passport must be valid for at least another six months from the intended date of entry into Taiwan
• Two white background colour passport size photographs
• A cover letter mentioning the purpose of the visit, the designation of the visitor, and the intended duration of his/her stay in Taiwan
• A tentative travel itinerary along with a confirmed hotel booking in Taiwan
• Last 3 months’ personal bank statements
• Confirmed round-trip flight tickets
• You may be asked to submit additional documents for processing

Accommodation In Taipei

Taipei offers a wide range of accommodation options to suit every traveller’s needs and budget. Many accommodations are conveniently located near popular attractions, shopping districts, and public transportation, making it easy to explore the city. However, players travelling for APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 need to plan their accommodation based on the events they choose to play, as the Asia Poker Arena and Chinese Mahjong League are in different districts – Zhongzheng and Songshan respectively.
