The Asian Poker Tour (APT) recently concluded the second edition of the year in Phu Quoc. The series concluded with some great numbers and unparalleled action at the Corona Resort and Casino in Phu Quoc.
The 10-day-long series had 36 events on the schedule. APT Pho Quoc 2023 attracted around 450 unique players from 38 countries who competed for a total prize pool of VND56,157,180,000 (~$2,393,710). Out of this, about 26% was awarded in the Main Event alone. The Main Event had 284 unique entries competing for a final prize pool of VND 14,753,700,000 ($619,655).
Let’s check out some of the highlight events of the series.
Jinwoo Kim
USA’s Jinwoo Kim nailed the second APT title of his career after shipping the APT High Roller – 8 Max event. Kim beat an entry field of 102 players to bag VND1,263,940,000 ($53,859). The event had a total prize pool of VND4,947,000,000 (~$212,720). He beat Vietnam’s Ngoc Minh Le in the heads-up, who cashed VND 870,670,000 ($37,101).
Hosung Jang
The VND 8,000,000+800,000 buy-in Mini Main Event generated a starting field of 136 entries which recorded a final prize pool of VND1,055,360,000 (~$45,380). South Korea’s Hosung Jang took down the title for VND253,280,000 (~$10,900) after beating Japan’s Yukina Oza in the heads-up. Oza pocketed a handsome VND 172,020,000 ($7,330) for his effort.

Joshua Mccully
Australia’s Joshua Mccully grabbed his first-ever APT title by clinching the Single Day High Roller – 8 Max title for VND 531,170,000 ($22,634). He emerged victorious over an entry field of 37 entries at this VND 40,000,000+4,000,000 buy-in event. The top five players took home a share from the VND 1,435,600,000 (~$61,730) prize pool. The runner-up at this event was Thailand’s Sebastian Muller, who cashed VND 366,080,000.
Van Que Nguyen
The VND 10,000,000+1,000,000 buy-in High Speed Main Event attracted an entry field of 50 entries that generated a VND 485,000,000 (~$20,855) prize pool. Vietnam’s Van Que Nguyen marched to victory after beating Philippines’ Karen Talamayan in the heads-up to claim the top prize of VND 152,760,000 (~$6,570).
Several Indian players were also seen grinding at this spectacular event. Among them, Dhaval Mudgal clinched a title for the country after taking down the Freezeout event for prize money worth VND 157,160,000 (₹5,50,942). Know more about it here.
