In the latest update from the Indian contingent grinding at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Hanoi 2023 is that Jasven Saigal took the seventh spot in the High Roller tournament (Event 32). The pro took a pay cheque of VND 370,040,000. Jasven Saigal was among the shorter stacks and on Level 27 when blinds were at 60K/120K, big blind ante 120K, Saigal threw in the only big blind he had with him while Aigars Plivcs (small blind) matched the big blind to play further and Jargo Alavali checked. The entire board was revealed without anyone betting and finally at showdown Saigal showed J♠ 8♦ and saw Alavali scoping the pot with T♣ 3♣ after hitting two pairs. Sadly for Saigal it was game over.
Apart from Saigal, Ashish Munot, Kunal Patni, Prashant Bhutoria, and Zarvan Tumboli were also grinding in this event. At Level 19, Tumboli busted three spots away from the money. Another Indian player, Prashant Bhutoria was the bubble boy. Poker pro Ashish Munot got eliminated in the 22nd spot for a prize money worth VND 108,830,000. Kunal Patni who grabbed two titles in this series exited at the 17th position for a payday of VND 133,570,000.
The Spartan Poker pro exited when his King-high flush fell short thanks to his rival’s Ace-high flush. With K♣ T♣ Tumboli raised from the hijack position to 45K and Peter Kiem made the call from the cutoff position. Nguyen (A♣ 7♣) raised to 110K from the button and action circled back to the Spartan Poker pro. Tumboli threw 245K into the pot which led to Kiem folding while Nguyen matched the bet.
The dealer fanned out J♥ 2♣ 5♣ and Tumboli took the c-bet route for 110K given his flush draw. Nguyen quickly called as he too hit the flush draw. Both players checked after 5♦ showed up on the turn. 4♣ on the river saw Tumboli jamming his last remaining 480K whilst keeping hope in his King-high flush. But sadly for the Parsi boy, Nguyen snap called given his Ace-high flush. Tumboli flipped open K♣ T♣ much to his disappointment as Nguyen revealed A♣ 7♣.
