APT Finale Championships Event: Chia Yun Wu leads Day 1B


The Asian Poker (APT) Finale Taiwan has already lit Taipei city with poker enthusiasts racing to grab the prestigious title. After the successful run of APT Finale Taiwan Main Event, the second featured tournament is also catching the public eye. Two days into the Championships Event which is underway at the usual venue, CPT Club comes with a huge guarantee of TWD 6 million!

Yesterday saw the second starting flight with another set of 78 runners in action, each paying TWD $49,500 buy-in. Eventually, the game progressed to witness 46 remaining players bagging to Day 2. After hours of grinding and shuffling, it was Chia Yun Wu building up the largest stack of 266,700 enough to enter Day 2 as the overall chip leader. The top three positions were crammed by the native players. Closely following his countrymate was Chino Sa with 216,200 chips and in the third-place Carlos Chang bagging 208,000 chips.

A familiar face in the Asian circuit, Wu sits 42nd in Taiwan’s All-Time money list. He was last recorded to have won 2019 CPT Taipei Events 6 Max back in August. Apart from that, the field was also decorated by some of the leading players in the Asian circuit including the 2019 APT Vietnam Main Event champion Tetsuya Tsuchikawa with 139,500 chips, the 2019 APT Vietnam High Rollers winner Soo Jo Kim with 60,100 chips, the 2019 APT Philippines PLO winner Iori Yogo with 40,700 chips and so on.

  4. Shiga Mitsuhiro – 192,200
  5. Hu Yu Tang – 152,400
  6. Tobias Peters – 152,000
  7. Ji Young Kim – 151,900
  8. Dong Zhao – 151,300
  9. Cheng Chao Ting – 147,800
  10. Tetsuya Tsuchikawa – 139,500

All 31 Day 1A survivors will merge with Day 1B that brings the total to 77 players. However, the registration will be open until Day 2.
