Anirban Das wins third PPL Autumn title on PokerBaazi

The PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) Autumn edition kicked off on 15th October and players all over the country were excited to be a part of this online poker series, which has completed five days so far, and it’s fair to say that this has turned out to be one of their most successful series so far.

On Day 1, one player in particular did extremely well and that was Anirban Das aka ‘pottysingh’ who was the only player to win two titles out of the five tournaments contested on PokerBaazi that day. After a few more cashes during the series, Das was back with another victory last night, winning an impressive third title in the ongoing PPL!

It’s difficult to win one or two, but Das has proved to be extremely consistent, bringing up his third title of the series, winning PPL Event #24: INR 5 Lakh GTD PLO, which was the last of yesterday’s four scheduled tournaments. 287 entries including 140 re-entries took the prize pool up to INR 7.17 lakh and Das was the most profitable in the tournament, beating the field to take home the top prize of INR 1,50,675.

Gutshot caught up with the player who has been having a dream run on PokerBaazi at the moment. He said, “It was slow going after the first day where I shipped 2 tourneys. This one was special because PLO is a game that I am only starting to learn. Great structure and congratulations to the other players especially ‘durrr’ and ‘aryanstark’.”

With this victory, he also came up to #2 on the PPL Autumn Leaderboard standings, behind ‘WhySoSerious’, who shipped the HighRoller a couple of nights back. It’s going to be a tough fight on the PPL Autumn edition leaderboard. Who do you think will end up victorious? Let’s also look at some of the other results from PPL Day 5:

PPL Event #21: INR 2 Lakh GTD

This 6-Max tournament kicked off at 5:30pm and attracted a massive field of 524 entries, with a buy-in of INR 550. Coming out on top of this field was ‘sdpf’ who took home the biggest prize of INR 51,090. In heads-up, he beat Vinay Choudhry aka ‘Lovecee’ who won INR 37,990 for finishing second, after a relatively poor first few days in the PPL.

PPL Event #22: INR 5 Lakh GTD

This INR 2,750 buy-in tournament turned out to be another guarantee crusher, as 319 entries took the prize pool up to INR 7.97 lakh. From here, the top 23 places were paid out a minimum of INR 11,962 but the player who took away the biggest prize was ‘neo1’ who won the tournament for a handsome pay-out of INR 1,67,475. In heads-up, he beat ‘flopCheck’, who settled for the runner-up prize of INR 1,23,612.

PPL Event #23: INR 15 Lakh GTD Value Town

This was the featured tournament of the day with an INR 1,650 buy-in. The tournament attracted an outrageous field of 1,238 entries and this meant that the guarantee was broken with a new prize pool of INR 18.57 lakh being generated. Outlasting the field after a grind of 7 hours and 50 minutes was ‘rachubaba’ who took home the top pay-out of INR 3,15,690.
