Who is Anirban Das Poker?

Anirban Das was born and brought up in Mumbai. He completed his MBA degree in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. He was introduced to the game during his MBA days. After completing his degree, he landed in a job in Bengaluru at Zynga, which was one of the first online poker sites in the country. While working there, he used to play on the site and instantly got hooked to the game.

Eventually, Anirab Das realised that the game requires a lot of logic and skill. He decided to take a sabbatical from work and began playing poker tournaments seriously. That was the start of Anirban Das’ poker career. He boasts a poker career of more than 12 years now.

Anirban  Das poker hails from Mumbai but currently resides in Bangalore. The poker player made headlines for creating history at WSOP 2023 for having the best finish at the Main Event by an Indian. Das claimed the 16th spot in the WSOP Main Event for a sum of $430,200. This score happens to be Das’ best live tournament cash grab. WSOP 2023 was the first time Das made an appearance on the biggest stage of poker and grabbed everyone’s attention with his incredible run. This IIM Ahmedabad graduate is also a three-time gold medalist at the National Poker Series. The player has shown his prowess in both live and online poker, and continues to make a headway in the field.

He has several online titles to his name domestically, such as India Online Poker Championship (IOPC), among others. He also has cashed at WSOP ONLINE 2021 on GGPoker (International), wherein he finished 646th for $1,413 at $400 No Limit Hold’em – Colossus Online event.
