Aniket Waghmare ships SSS Destiny tournament on Spartan

As kids, at some point of time, we all wanted to be a superhero and believe that we had super-natural powers. Some of us would’ve wanted to be Batman, some Superman, some Spiderman, while the rest others. Aniket Waghmare on the other hand, grew up and decided that maybe he can really be a superhero. On the felts.

He adopted poker as a passion and named himself ‘Anteman’, under which he has been winning quite a lot on The Spartan Poker of late. Last night was probably his biggest win ever, as Waghmare shipped the Spartan Super Series (SSS) edition of the Destiny tournament on Spartan.

SSS Event #14 Destiny INR 25 Lakh GTD kicked off last night at 7:30pm IST and it wasn’t until early today morning that Waghmare was crowned champion, beating some of India’s top players to the title. Let’s not forget that Waghmare also won the opening event of this edition of the SSS, and he has now ended SSS Day 3 at #2 on the points leaderboard, only behind ‘degen123’.

Last night’s Destiny saw a total field of 514 entries registering to the INR 5,500 tournament, with the guarantee being passed slightly and the top 40 places being paid out a minimum prize of INR 15,420. Waghmare however, shipped the tournament for the top prize of INR 6,81,050. From this, INR 1 lakh will be deducted towards his Destiny SnG Finale ticket, where the player will get to play against nine other Destiny winners for a chance to win a package trip to Europe.

Here, he beat ‘johnny89’ in heads-up and this player wouldn’t be too disappointed either, having won INR 4,24,050 for finishing runner-up in this tournament. The final hand came in Level #49 where johnny89 shoved in his short stack pre-flop, with Ah Qd. Anteman had pocket Deuces. The board ran 4c Td 9s Kd 4d and Waghmare won with Fours and Twos.
