André Lettau Ships APL Hanoi 2021 Highroller Club Event Title

The Asian poker circuit was buzzing with excitement when Asia Poker League (APL) announced that it was bringing back live events. After waiting for an entire year, poker fans were once again able to participate in live poker tournaments. APL Hanoi 2021 kicked-off on a spectacular note on 3 April and is set to run till 11 April. The entire event has a prize pool of VND 6.6 Million (INR 2.09 Crore) GTD and is taking place at the Grand Vista Hotel in Vietnam.

The APL Highroller Club event was one of the most-awaited feature events of APL Hanoi 2021. With a high buy-in of VND 55 Million (INR 1.78 Lakh), the tournament was a  single day event which took place on 8 April. While 22 players entered the event to battle it out on the live felts, it was German poker player André Lettau that took home the prestigious title and VND 534 Million (INR 17.32 Lakh).

The final table was down to three players: Lettau, Julien Tran, and Pham Tien Dung. The first one to go was Dung, who came in third and walked away with VND 213 Million (INR 6.91 Lakh) in prize money. After an intense heads-up match between the remaining two players, it was Tran who took the first hit and was defeated by Lettau. Tran, who is the co-founder of Poker Coach Vietnam, walked away with second place winnings of VND 320 Million (INR 10.38 Lakh).

André Lettau has been playing in live poker tournaments since 2014. In August 2014, he shipped the European Poker Tour Main Event title and walked away with EU 8,00,000 in prize money. So far, Lettau has won live poker tournament winnings worth about USD 1 Million (INR 7.47 Crore).
