Anant Purohit Spills The Beans About Being A Gutshot Pro

India Poker Championship (IPC) Megastacks May 2022 was hosted after a hiatus of two years. For many players in the circuit this poker series was the starting point. Similarly for Gutshot, it was the first time when we sponsored players for the event. An official announcement about a Gutshot sponsored pro was made, and the entire industry was excited to know which player will be that pro. 

We received hundreds of entries through the Google document which was rolled out for all the interested players. After screening, the team picked two well-known industry veterans, Anant Purohit and Dhirendra Kumar. Both the players represented Gutshot on the live felts of Casino Vegas in Jhapa, Nepal. We got in touch with Anant Purohit, to know more about his experience. 

Your thoughts on being a Gutshot Pro? Do you feel it helped you in any way? 

It was really superb to be a Gutshot Pro. I felt amazing as an ambassador of Gutshot. It’s a different feeling when you represent a brand on the table.

How was IPC Megastacks May 2022 for you?

IPC was definitely an amazing experience this time. Overall a super cool experience, I tried to play my A-game throughout the series and got success to some extent by winning the first satty and making it to ITM in the Main Event. But I would say those results are not something you were expecting. So I will definitely work towards getting better results in the future. 

How did you prepare for IPC?

I have been playing live games for a long time. But playing a live tourney is something Indian players don’t usually get their hands on, so I try to play as many live tournaments as possible. And for IPC, I recalled all my tips and tricks for the live tourneys before the series started. 

Which live event will we see you in next?

Not sure about that. But whatever live series happens in India, you can expect to see me there. I’m planning to attend a few events outside the country as well.
