Akshay Nasa triumphs in Adda52’s Whale

Adda52, one of the most established brands in the Indian poker scene, hosts a variety of tournaments with different formats to suit all kinds of players and all kinds of pockets. The Whale on Adda52 is slightly different, having 6-max structure. Many players prefer this tournament as it features a manageable table and also because the buy-in is decently valued for a high-stakes tournament like this.

Last night’s Whale 6-Max, the Friday feature tournament on Adda52, attracted a total of 210 entries, including 78 re-entries, for a buy-in of INR 7,500. The guaranteed prize pool of INR 15 Lakhs was crossed by an extra INR 75,000. The play began at the usual time of 8 pm and ended at 3:24 am today morning.

The tournament was shipped by none other than our very own pro Akshay Nasa aka ‘vibaks’. The IIT grad is on a roll this week, cashing out a sizeable shipment on 9Stacks just two days ago. He won INR 2,94,155 as 1st place prize last night, after a 3-way ICM chop that happened between him, the runner-up ‘fourteenk’ and the 3rd place finisher ‘dirtyzoso’. They took home INR 2,79,946 and INR 2,71,899 from the deal respectively.

Nasa’s staggering win will add a welcome amount to his bankroll. Looks like he is prepping up for an exciting and action-packed Winter season. With some leaderboards being hosted for the season on a few reputed platforms, it will come as no surprise if he tops them all, having previously shown his perseverance and love for the skill-based game by topping the PPL Autumn Leaderboard in the month of October.

Gutshot got in touch with Nasa after the win and had this to say, “The final two tables were fun. I ended up playing with two of my very good friends in the 3-way and the deal was struck quickly.

Some known players were also running last night. Siddarth Singhvi aka ‘badtameez_donk’ finished 4th with INR 1,35,000. The Pune-based player had also bagged the chance to play with Finnish pro Patrik Antonius a couple of weeks ago, when Antonius came to the country for the 10-year anniversary celebrations of the Deltin Group.

10th to rank in the tournament was this week’s Godfather winner Smita Agarwalla aka ‘coconik’. She is gaining steam in the male-dominated online poker rooms and we hope she cashes even more in upcoming tournaments. Other knowns names to rank in the money were Shravan Chhabria aka ‘sweatmyass13’ (16th), Sahil Mahboobani aka ‘ImHighIshove’ (17th) and Varun Gupta aka ‘VnutsG’ (19th).
