Aditya Sushant 4th in APT Finale Championships Event

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2018 Finale has been running at Resorts World Manila, Philippines since 27th November 2018 and the biggest tournament running at the moment is the Championships Event, which attracted a total field of 71 entries across the starting flights. Indian pro Aditya Sushant made it to Day 3 of the tournament yesterday.

He was building towers with his chips at one point in Day 2, but a few big pots lost led him to bagging up 188k in chips, placed 6/8 on the Final Table by the end of day’s play. Now we all know how talented Sushant is, being India’s first WSOP bracelet winner, but it was always going to be tough to overcome the leader Bobby Zhang who had over a million in chips at the end of the day.

Some very good Asian pros were in the mix and Sushant did well to stay alive for a while on Day 3, even though he never really managed to get out of the short-stacked position. APT Philippines Championships winner Lim Yohwan busted today in 5th place just a while before Sushant himself exited the tournament.

It was a great run by the Chennai-based player who finally hit the rail in 4th place for a handsome prize of PHP 973,300 (~INR 13.02 lakh). He lost to none other than Zhang, who was dominating this Final Table all day long. Zhang had Q2 suited and bet 20k on the Q-3-2 flop, only for Sushant to shove with A3 off. The 10 and 9 on the fourth and fifth streets didn’t help Sushant as he busted in 4th place, with his Three-pair losing to Zhang’s Queens and Deuces.

As play went on 3-way, Zhang had earned a huge chip lead, only for Japan’s Iori Yogo (APT Korea Championships winner) to eventually take the lead. As we type this, Anthony Thong Boon Tee is the shortest stacked with 481k in chips as compared to Yogo who has nearly touched 2 million in chips.
