Adita Wahi is a well-known face in the entertainment industry with some popular TV shows to her credit. The stunner who hails from Delhi, moved to New York to pursue higher studies.
Wahi came back to Mumbai after working in New York and now runs a business too. Wondering about how this actress-host got into poker? Well, we have some answers thanks to our conversation with the actress cum poker player.
We questioned Wahi about her introduction to the card game to which she replied saying, “Some of my friends used to play home games and they asked me to join and learn. Being a curious mind I was always game to learn something new. I loved the game and enjoyed playing with my friends.”

Wahi also mentioned that she is quite competitive and enjoys the thrill of winning and losing. The female poker player also revealed that the element of skill attracted her to the card game as it required a considerable amount of strategising.

Wahi has a stack of 90,386 chips to battle it out once the final table resumes in Taipei. We couldn’t help but ask her if she has played in a live poker series before. Wahi mentioned that she never played in an international live poker series and APT Taipei 2024 will be her maiden experience at the APT Taipei 2024 felts.

While live poker series on foreign land will be a first for Wahi, online poker became a part of her life during COVID-19 lockdown. She further added, “I started playing micro level MTTs. Had a few good runs and then fell into the classic trap of losing and thinking I’m getting unlucky! That’s when I decided to learn and improve my game and get better at it. It’s been a journey of learning and growing which has been extremely fulfilling.”
To wrap up our conversation with this female poker player, we asked her about that one poker moment she cherishes the most. Wahi revealed that she played a tournament with ₹1,650 buy-in and failed to make any headway. After multiple attempts she finally shipped that tourney. This was the first time when Wahi took the numero uno spot in an online poker tournament. The Mumbai resident also added that making the final table in Natural8 India’s exclusive tourney for APT Taipei 2024 was special for her.
For the unversed, Natural8 India’s exclusive tournament offered a chance to grab free tickets and travel packages worth ₹90K each to the top 6 finalists. The top three final table finishers will get tickets (₹1.85 Lakh each) to the Main Event and the remaining three will get tickets to the Mini Main Event (₹60K).
