xCloud Gaming Now Available in 22 Countries, But What About India?

Microsoft recently announced that its most sought after Xbox cloud gaming service, also known as xCloud will be available on iOS and Windows 10 devices. However, the company released a list of 22 countries where the service will be made available but unfortunately India is not one of them.

Currently, the xCloud services were only available for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on consoles. Microsoft released a blogpost sharing the news that the service is now extended to all iOS and Windows 10 devices in 22 countries. The service will still be available in India but only over consoles for a price of ₹699 per month.

The blogpost read, “Starting today, Xbox Cloud Gaming is available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members with Windows 10 PCs and Apple phones and tablets, via browser, across 22 countries.”

The service will be made available in 22 countries including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States. It can be accessed on browsers like Microsoft Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Apple’s Safari as well as Windows 10 PCs and iOS-based devices such as iPhones and iPads.

Last year some reports suggested that Microsoft will partner with Indian telecom giant Reliance Jio. But it looks like this partnership did not materialize. Reliance Jio is currently working on rolling out its 5G service in the country and consequently is also developing its own cloud gaming service for the domestic market.

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives its members access to more than 100 games from Xbox Cloud Gaming library for a nominal subscription fee.
