Day 2C Wynn Millions: Daniel Negreanu Back In Action While Frank Funaro Leads


Flight Day 2C of the $10 Million Wynn Millions tournament took place on Tuesday with over 246 players competing in the field. The lucrative prize pool attracted top poker players from around the world. This time each level had a duration of 90 minutes and after five levels, only 86 players were left. Sitting atop the crowd was player Frank Funaro who took the lead with a chip stack of 953,000.

While Day 2AB was headed by player Dominique Mosley who managed to bag a stack size of 933,000 chips. After a rough first few days, GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu was finally among the big stack leaders. Starting with only 77,500 chips and building it up to 612,000. This placed Negreanu in the position of the 10th highest chip stack for Day 2C.

One of the high points from the event was the way chip leader Funaro gained a major portion of his chip stack after he beat bracelet winner Bryan Piccioli and won over the 500,000 pot. The 86 players who made it to Day 2C will then move on to play on Day 3. Around 162 players will be competing to make it past the money bubble.

With the big turnout of entries from the flights, the final prize pool of Wynn Millions hit $12,483,200. This whopping amount will then be distributed among the top 134 entries who manage to make the money. Each of these players will be given a min-cash of $25,091 with the winner taking home a lion’s share worth $2,018,866 and the tournament title.

Players like Thomas Boivin, Dylan Linde, Bin Weng and Ramiro Petrone took the top five spots as the highest chip stack holders.

  3. Dylan Linde – 849,000
  4. Bin Weng – 788,000
  5. Ramiro Petrone – 782,000
  6. Andrew Heckman – 668,000
  7. Farid Jattin – 662,000
  8. Steve Foutty – 642,000
  9. Ilyas Muradi – 635,000
  10. Daniel Negreanu – 621,000

Johnny Chan, Maria Konnikova, Brian Hastings, Camille Brown, Dorian Rios, Mike Del Vicchio, Calvin Anderson, Matt Stout, Erik Seidel were among those who didn’t make it.
