WSOP 2024 Day 12: Doddapaneni Eliminated; Sood In Day 2 Of Event 20

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas has been a whirlwind of excitement, with two more bracelet events concluding on Day 12. Brek Schutten, an ICU nurse by profession, emerged victorious in Event #21 $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em (6-Handed), pocketing a hefty $1,405,641. Schutten’s impressive performance against some of the top professionals in the game earned him his first WSOP bracelet.

In Event #22 $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw, Aaron Cummings from Montana also secured his first bracelet, taking home $146,516. The day’s action saw four other events in play, including one new event, and the WSOP provided clarity on the recent controversy over late registration rules.

Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold’em, which attracted a total of 13,778 entries, saw Giovanny Rodriguez Ocampo (3,010,000) leading the Day 1C field. However, Dan Heimiller (3,875,000), the Day 1B chip leader, remains in a commanding position overall.

Darius Samual, fresh off his victory in the $25,000 Heads Up Championship, is now chasing his second bracelet in Event #23 $1,500 Shootout No-Limit Hold’em. He will face stiff competition from the remaining 16 survivors, including notable players like Vitor Dzivielevski, Jeremy Ausmus, Scott Ball, and Daniel Strelitz.

Event #24 $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship has reached the final 13 players, with Robert Tanita (2,990,000) leading the pack. Other notable names still in contention include Sean Troha, Sean Winter, Brad Ruben, and Yuri Dzivielevski.
