WSOP 2024 Day 11: Sinha Finds A Bag; Suvarna Finishes 13th In HR

The World Series of Poker is running full steam with many players from across the globe battling it out for the top spots including India. Players like Gaurav Sood, Gunisha Sinha, Santhosh Suvarna, Sriharsha Doddapaneni, Ankita Ahuja among others are grinding at the prestigious tournament series.

Event #21

Poker heavyweight Suvarna was grinding in Event #21 $25,000 High Roller Six Handed No-Limit Hold’em. Here the WSOP Europe bracelet winner finished 13th for a sum of $79,084. This tournament had players like Ren Lin, Ethan Yau, Erik Seidel, Chris Brewer, and Alex Foxen making it in the money. With top 41 paid, the min-cash settled at $50,936. Pros like Shaun Deeb, Daniel Negreanu and Cary Katz couldn’t cash in this event. Final 12 (out of 272) remain for a shot at the top prize worth $1,405,641.

Another player who made it in the money is Gunisha Sinha. The female player is grinding in Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold’em. Sinha was playing in Day 1B and managed to find a bag for Day 2. Sinha had a stack of 955,000 chips to fight it out on Day 2 when survivors from all the flights would gather to progress further. Currently Day 1C is underway in this tourney which has so far registered 9115 entries. The prize pool stands at $3 Million. 

Event #22

Event #22 $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw (6-Handed) has ended its Day 2. From a total of 157 grinders who made Day 2, only 13 made it further to Day 3. Leading the charge was James Williams, a seasoned player from Arizona, who had amassed an impressive stack of 1,900,000 chips. Hot on his heels was Yuichi Kanai, a formidable opponent with 1,825,000 chips in his arsenal. The remaining players, each with their own strategies and skills, were determined to make their mark on the tournament.

The prize pool, a staggering $766,290, was the ultimate goal, with the eventual champion set to take home a life-changing sum of $146,516. The final 87 players were guaranteed at least the minimum cash prize of $3,000. Among the players advancing to Day 3 were two bracelet holders, Danny Wong and Ilija Savevski. Another bracelet holder Amnon Filippi narrowly missed out on the Day 3 action, busting on the last hand of the night.

Event #23

Popular poker pro from India, Sriharsha Doddapaneni made Day 2 in Event #23: $1,500 SHOOTOUT No-Limit Hold’em. This tournament had 1,534 total entries with the final prize pool being $2,047,890. Doddapaneni has a stack of 225,000 chips in his kitty to compete for the title and top prize of $305,849. The pro qualified for Day 2 via flight Day 1A. Two notable players who will return for Day 2 are Jeremy Ausmus and Game of Gold winner Maria Ho. 

Event #24

Day 1 of Event #24: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Championship came to an end with 95 runners out of 224 making Day 2. At the forefront of the action is Sean Winter, who has secured a commanding lead with an impressive 378,000 chips, equivalent to 126 big blinds. Winter’s impressive haul has earned him the top spot on the leaderboard, with Australia’s Warwick Mirzikinian hot on his heels with 361,000 chips. Rounding out the top three is Germany’s Mathias Bayer, who has amassed 334,000 chips.
