WSOP 2024: Aditya Agarwal In Top 10 Of Event 82

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP), is hitting an all-time high when it comes to intensity with the Main Event kick-starting amid high expectations and records being broken even before the tournament hits Day 2. But the Main Event isn’t the only tourney running, there are other tournaments like Event 80, 83, and 84 happening at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. When it comes to the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em, India’s Aditya Agarwal has managed to secure a spot in the top 10. The tournament is currently underway with 7 players in the game out of the 214 runners who made Day 2.

Event 80 $1,000 No Limit Hold’em

This $1,000 buy-in tournament had 1,424 total entries with the final prize pool settling at $1,253,120. Notables in the field were Chance Kornuth, David Peters, and Sammy Farha among others. Indian pros like Ashish Ahuja, Guarav Sood, and Sriharsha Doddapaneni had also participated. Only Sood and Doddapaneni managed to make it in the money. At the time of writing, Aditya Agarwal had doubled up from Jesse Wigan and within a couple of minutes Robert Macri exited the tourney in eighth place for a sum of $20,754.

Coming to the WSOP 2024, multiple milestones were created. Poker legend Phil Ivey claimed his 11th bracelet and now stands second only to the Poker Brat, Phil Hellmuth. Canadian pro Daniel Negreanu grabbed his seventh bracelet to end an 11-year drought. Scott Seiver claimed three bracelets in this series joining an elite group of players who have nailed three tourneys in the same series. Seiver did not shy away from stating in post game interviews that he wants to be the Player of the Year and is working towards it.

With the Main Event in motion, all eyes will be on whether the current tournament breaks last year’s records. WSOP 2023 was the biggest Main Event ever hosted in the prestigious history of the series.
