WSOP 2023 50K HR: Alleged Cheater Jake Schindler Finishes 3rd

The most expensive tournament of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023—$50K High Roller is over and has a winner in Alex Kulev. The Bulgarian took down the High Roller tournament after beating Gergely Kulcsar from Hungary. 

Kulev took home $2,087,073 for his first place finish and the runner-up had a payday of $1,289,909. What’s more interesting than Kulev shipping the High Roller is that alleged cheater Jake Schindler returned to WSOP for the High Roller tourney.

Jake Schindler returns to WSOP 2023

The American pro who was banned from all PokerGo events showed up for the $50,000 High Roller and took the third spot for a sum of $957,491. Schindler locked horns with Kulev in his bust out hand. From the button Alex Kulev raised to 1,600,000 and Schindler went all-in for 7,200,000. 

Kulev once again took a look at his cards and got his chips in the middle. Schindler had A8s and his rival had A9o. The dealer opened the board as K ❤ 9 ♦ 2 ♠3 ♦ 5 ♦ which meant Kulev won the hand with his 9-pair. Schindler, who has faced many cheating allegations in the past, exited the High Roller in third place.

Is Jake Schindler The Only Alleged Cheater Who Returned?

Not really, there is one more who made his way to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for WSOP 2023. Ali Imsirovic who was also banned by PokerGo showed up for the 54th edition of WSOP. 

The Bosnian-American pro entered the Shootout event. Imsirovic who recently released a video claiming his innocence in a few cheating instances while admitting to multi-accounting in a few cases, busted and couldn’t make a splash with his play. 

Overall, one alleged cheater had a great run while it was not so good for the other. But many in the circuit feel why WSOP did not ban them despite several cheating allegations levelled against them.
