WSOP 2022: First Bracelet For Michael Simhai In Event #27 Shootout

Another event at the ongoing World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022 has come to an end at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas. And we have a new winner in the form of Michael Simhai, who nailed Event #27: Shootout No-Limit Hold’em and pocketed $240,480 as the top prize.

The California-based player enjoyed a healthy chip stack on both Day 2 and Day 3 of the event. Simhai’s prize money at this event is also the best live cash he’s got so far. According to Hendon Mob, his previous best was $99,271. Simhai entered the heads-up clash with David Dowdy who had a 4:1 chip lead. Talking about his opponent in heads-up, Simhai said, “He’s the nicest guy, one of the nicest guys I’ve ever played against in a poker room. I kind of feel bad.”

The $1,500 buy-in event had a capped entry field of 1,000 players. A prize pool of $1,335,000 was generated which was eventually shared by the top 100 players. The event went on for two days until the final table of 10 was set. These 10 players then returned for Day 3 to play an all-American final table (FT).

Yonnotti cashed $30,227, and Peck pocketed $38,455, while Griffith and McDermott walked away with $49,414 and $64,129 for their respective finishes.
