WSOP 2020: Joon Kim Wins his First-Ever Bracelet for $103K!


It’s been a week since the commencement of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online and so far seven bracelet events have concluded including the latest winner Joon “jykpoker” Kim who took down WSOP Event #7: No-Limit Hold ’em Knockout Deepstack for $103,127 in top prize along with bounties worth $3,000.

The $800 buy-in event gathered 989 entries, creating a prize pool of $731,860. The bubble boy of the event was Sean “PetyrBaelish” Hegarty who went out in 144th place after which the top 143 players took home a min-cash. Two-time WSOP bracelet and India’s Nipun “javanti” Java finished 103 for $961. Other notables  to cash include Brian “JackBogle” Altman (86th – $1,121), Matt “RubberFist” Stout (80th – $1,228), Jared “DarrensRabbi” Jaffee (56th – $1,495), Ryan “bitc0in” Riess (33rd – $2,403), and Layne “scoop87” Flack (13th – $4,486).

It was Jeff “mavsusc” Platt who began the final table with the chip lead. Kim then eliminated “smallmytable” in sixth place when his ace-nine held against king-jack, Steinman went out in 6th place. With four players remaining, two-time WSOP bracelet winner Eric Baldwin dominated Jason Gunn but Baldwin soon followed him out the door. Heads-up began between Joon “jykpoker” Kim (25 million chips) and “bunsamillion” (4 million chips). On the final hand, Kim moved all-in from the button and “bunsamillion” called.

The board ran 2s Kh 5c 2d Ah and Kim flopped a pair of Kings, taking down WSOP Event #7 to capture his first-ever gold bracelet for $103,127. So far, the champion has 11 WSOP cashes including 5 in WSOP.com.
