WSOP 2020: Joe McKeehen Captures 3rd Gold Bracelet!

Fourteen gold pieces have been given out so far to the players residing in Nevada and New Jersey. And someone will have a good night today after grabbing his third World Series of Poker (WSOP) Bracelet! Poker pro Joe McKeehen, the 2015 World Series champ took down a prestigious WSOP title for $352,985 in first prize!

The WSOP Online Event #14: $3,200 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller saw a 496-entry strong field collecting a jaw dropping $1.5 million worth prize pool. It took more than 14 hours for the official titleholder to conquer the tough field lit with several pros. Unfortunately, one of the industry legends, Chris ‘camdi’ Ferguson became the bubble boy of the tournament falling in 64th place.

Players in the money include author, poker player and pyschologist Maria ‘bluerat’ Konnikova (56th – $6,031), Loren ‘BabyJesus’ Klein (18th – $11,459), Event #12 champ Ryan ‘joeyisamush’ Depaulo (16th – $11,459), Dave ‘Dunningkrugr’ Alfa (9th – $22,316 and so on. First FT casualty was David ‘newjerz05’ Jackson followed by Nathan ‘innate9’ Russler in 7th place. Clayton ‘nevarlucky’ Maguire who began the FT with a chip lead went out in 6th place. Eventually, with the elimination of Roland ‘prngls12’ Israelashvili, heads-up got underway between Frank ‘thewholefunk’ Funaro (9.1 million chips) and Joe ‘fanofdapoker’ McKeehen (3.2 million chips).

  • Funaro: 7d 6d
  • McKeehen: Ad 9h

Furnaro couldn’t connect to 8d 4h Ks flop but gave him four outs for a gutshot. Turn 4c, Furnaro still needed to connect on the river but Qc ended the tournament and Ace-high gave the $16 million in live earning poker pro McKeehen another bracelet! His recent achievement made him join the club of 3-time bracelet legends – David ‘Chip’ Reese, Dewey Tomko, and Lyle Berman all of whom are Poker Hall of Famers.
