WSOP 2020: Allen “Acnyc718” Chang takes down Event #5 for $161K!


Another action packed day on WSOP.com giving out its fifth bracelet in the prestigious online series, the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP). A total of 31 bracelet events have been have been scheduled to take place till 19th July, thereafter the action gets underway on GGPoker. Another day went into the history books with Allen “Acnyc718” Chang clinching to Event #5: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout.

The WSOP Online Event #5 garnered a field of 854 entries accumulating a prize pool of $811,300. Settling in the 127th place was Shawn “shades927” Stroke who bubbled the tournament and the remaining 126 players were guaranteed a minimum payday of $1,622. Other notables to cash were Katie “katelin” Lindsay (113th – $1,622), Melisa “NJ_Melisa” Singh (75th – $$1,947), Event #2 winner Louis “PokeThese” Lynch (50th – $2,758), Stephen “sixsixsix” Jones (37th – $3,164) Michael “itwasthator0” Gagliano (12th – $8,680), and Greg “ClickingBtnz” Himmelbrand (10th – $8,680).

Chang began the final table as the chip leader. John “Slapshot1085” Forlenza bowed out in 7th place, Alexander “ShadowFiend1” Condon in the 6th place. Soon after the elimination of Felipe “McBain” Leme, heads-up got underway between Allen “Acnyc718” Chang (9.32 million chips) and Philip “tomte” Yeh (7.75 million chips). The Event #5 ended with Yeh raising all in for 2.9 million.

With 4h Jh 7c on flop, Yeh got a gutshot. Eventually, 7c and 2d on turn and river, and that’s when Chang defeated Yeh with a higher pair and clinched to $161,286 top prize, capturing the bracelet! According to Hendon Mob, the champion has over $215K in total live earnings with his career-best $49K for finishing 7th in 2010 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship Event. So far, Chang has cashed more than 10 times in WSOP.
