WSOP 2020: Alan Goehring Ships Event 8: No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout


A total of 23 bracelet events are remaining for the players residing in New Jersey and Nevada thereafter the festival will move on to GGpoker site to host 54 World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournaments for the enthusiasts around the world. Today, the WSOP Online Event 8: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout went into the history books crowning Alan “GladiusIII” Goehring his first-ever bracelet!

The event drew a massive field of 1,479 entries after chipping in $800 buy-in and generating a prize pool $655,550. It took almost 11+ hours for the champion to emerge, but before that “Debaser” bubbled and the top 207 players locked a min-cash. Among the notables to cash were Phil “lumestackin” Hellmuth (109th – $931), Anthony “nowb3atthat” Spinella (75th – $1,331), Daniel “centrfieldr” Lupo (62nd – $1,730), Don “banhmi” Nguyen (33rd – $2,861), Jeff “NedrudRelyt” Madsen (14th – $5,457), Steve “gborooo” Gross (11th – $6,921), and Matthew “MartyCohen” Weiss (10th – $6,921).

It was Randy “StayAlive” Ohel began the final table as the chip leader, “xILoUieIx” was the first casualty followed by Scott “miamicane” Davies. Soon, the Event #3 champ of the ongoing series Robert “bustinballs” Kuhn went out in fourth place and Randy “StayAlive” Ohel went out in third place giving way to heads-up play between Alan “GladiusIII” Goehring (18 million) and Ross “BlueTang” Gottlieb (11 million).

Gottlieb opened with 680K and Goehring called. Flop 10c Qh Jc and the former continued for 860K which made Goehring raise 1.7 million. Gottlieb was ahead with straight but tides of the game didn’t take much time to change.

Goehring: Ac 3c

With 6c and Jd on turn and river Gottlieb was sent home and Goehring captured his career-first bracelet $119,399. With over $5 million in total live earnings, and two time World Poker Tour (WPT) champion came close to WSOP gold bracelet in 1999.
