The World Poker Tour (WPT) has become tremendously popular since its inception and has gone on to become one of the most prominent poker brands across the globe. From prominent events like the WPT Prime, Main Tour, WPT Deepstacks, WPT500 amongst others, WPT has been organising tournaments all across the globe, making poker the global sport that it is today! Let’s have a look at all the players who have recorded the most top 10 finishes in the WPT events.
Darren Elias has the highest number of top 10 finishes in WPT events as per Hendon Mob. He has claimed four WPT titles while having 13 cashes so far. There is more to Elias’ story when it comes to WPT with the American poker pro earning $4,731,452 in the WPT tournaments, sitting at the fourth spot on the WPT All Time Money List.
It is worth noting that the pro has a lot of competition with players looking to match his record and topple it. It would be interesting to see if Elias can further his lead or if he will end up losing his numero uno spot in 2023.
The United States-based player has pocketed $3,878,498 in WPT events so far and sits at the 11th position on the WPT All Time Money List. His performances saw him finish in the top 10 players 11 times in WPT events so far. However, despite faring so well in the WPT events, the poker pro has some serious competition, with Scotty Nguyen tied with him for the second spot.
Justin Cuong Van Tran has the likes of Brian Altman, David Pham, Jared Todd Jaffee, Daniel Negreanu, and Phil Ivey in contention to dethrone him. Will Van Tran be able to add to his tally this year or will we see any other player match up his score? Only time will tell.
One of the most famous poker personalities, Scotty Nguyen has an impressive WPT score. He has the second most top 10 finishes so far. Making it into the money 11 times, he sits at par with Justin Cuong Van Tran right now.
Nguyen has pocketed $2,681,728 in WPT events and sits at the 30th slot in the WPT All Time Money List. However, despite having multiple cashes, Nguyen hasn’t won a WPT title yet. It remains interesting to see if the poker legend can change the record book this time around.
Brian Altman, Jared Todd Jaffee, and David Pham, alongside poker legends Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu, find themselves in the same bracket, with all the players registering 10 WPT finishes.
Negreanu’s best outing in WPT came back in 2004 where he managed to win a whopping $ 1,117,400 while playing the WPT $10,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em during WPT Borgata Poker Open, Atlantic City.
Ivey, on the other hand, recently won the $ 25,000 No Limit Hold’em – WPT Heads-Up Championship to walk away with $400,000 in June 2021. He has also emerged victorious in the $ 2,500 Omaha Hi/Lo and $ 1,500 Seven Card Stud during WPT Championship, Las Vegas in 2003.
Both players are undoubtedly the best poker players in the world and are expected to shine brighter this year. Can Negreanu and Ivey edge out the other players and move ahead in the most WPT finishes list?
