WPT Global Announces Sponsorship Of Triton Poker Super High Roller Series

WPT Global is on an announcing spree, which always means some big bucks are making their way around the poker community and good news for poker players and enthusiasts. WPT Global announced that the poker behemoth will sponsor the upcoming Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. This will offer players exclusive opportunities to qualify for live Triton events. Triton Poker is a formidable name in the poker community. It is famous for its Super High Roller Series, which, as the name suggests, has some colossal GTDs and exemplary prize pools.

With this deal, every leg of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series will now have a $25,000 buy-in WPT Global Slam Event. Players will be able to win seats to the Global Slam via various WPT Global and Triton Poker satellite games and other promotions. There’s no information as yet about when these satellites and promotions will begin, but with the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series coming to Monte Carlo in November, there’s every chance that the official announcement about the Global Slam Event will happen there or, better still, the first Slam event will be held there. 

WPT Global has truly captured the headlines in the poker space with its sign-ups and brand collaborations. Over the week, they brought in a popular Chinese esports player, Xue Hong-Wei, and NHL star Phil Kessel as Ambassadors. The brand is one of the oldest in the poker community, starting out in 2002, and has since then organised some of the most popular and successful poker series on a global level. Triton Poker, relatively new to the poker industry, has experienced mercurial growth since its inception in 2016 and has held several events in Malina, Macau, Montenegro, Jeju, and other places.

WPT Global has been pretty creative with its brand ambassador decisions, such as bringing an esports player into the world of poker. Whether any of these brand ambassadors will take part in the events at Triton will only be revealed in the near future.

With the two brands collaborating,  the poker community should look forward to some exciting endeavours in the future. This year, another merger of two brands made global headlines when GGPoker took over WSOP, merging two of the biggest brands in the industry. The particular take-over was one of the biggest in the industry and is bound to bring about a sea change. Whether WPT’s sponsorship of Triton will have the same effect remains to be seen.
