Who Is Nicholas Rigby?

Nicholas Rigby is a poker player who made a name for himself during the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. The American pro rose when he played a 2,3 off suite hand, which no one expected him to play. Based out of Pittsburg, Rigby managed to learn the art of playing deuce-three offsuit whenever those cards were dealt to him.

He called that hand ‘The Dirty Diaper’ while grinding at his local casino or during home games. Rigby ran deep in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in 2021 and made a name in the poker community. He finished in 52nd place in the WSOP 2021 Main Event and pocketed $136,100. He earned himself the nickname of “The Dirty Diaper” after tasting the success at the biggest poker event.

After two years, Rigby found himself making a deep run once again in poker’s most prestigious event. He did not forget about ‘The Dirty Diaper’ and used his hand to build up a Day 1D chip lead. That lead further grew on Day 2D as he ended up boasting the second biggest stack in the room. Rigby kept his opponents guessing by value betting, bluffing, and doing everything else while holding the less-than-premium cards.

Heading into Day 5, Rigby had a stack of 3,655,000 and was close to the top of chip counts. He was later seen talking about his tried-and-true loose-aggressive strategy at the WSOP Main Event.

As of July 2023, Rigby has $188,581 in total live earnings, with his WSOP 2021 Main Event claim of $136,100 being his best live cash so far. After a solid performance in the ongoing WSOP 2023 Main Event, he busted on Day 6 on the 131st place for $67,700.
