Haven’t we seen world renowned poker players take digs at each other from time to time? Oh we have. Ample amount of ridiculing and trolling is on display especially on Twitter. This time it was Daniel Negreanu who took a sly dig at 16-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.
What did the latter do? He blabbered a lot to Phil Ivey during the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. This incident gave DNegs a chance to throw shade at Hellmuth and Ivey did not give a damn about Hellmuth’s unhinged trash talk.
In the coveted $50,000 Poker Players Championship, Hellmuth was up against Ivey. When blinds were at 10K/15K, Hellmuth had Dimes and the 10-time WSOP bracelet winner had KQs. Ivey raised to 70K from the small blind to which Hellmuth responded by open folding his pocket pair but also asked Ivey if he had eights.
This incident shocked the players on the table and even the commentators couldn’t make sense of what Hellmuth did. The Palo Alto resident looked royally pissed at Ivey who did not give a fu*k about Hellmuth’s comment. Ivey did one better; he gave it back to Hellmuth like a boss. The poker GOAT stated that Hellmuth has been giving the same speech for 25 years and that it’s the same thing for all these years.

When ‘KidPoker’ found out about this incident, he took his camera and asked Ivey about giving it back to Hellmuth. DNegs repeats the exact words Ivey spoke. This time Ivey corrected the number of years for which Hellmuth has been giving the same speech.
It is not 25 but 22 years that Hellmuth has been serving trash talk to his rivals on poker tables. Negreanu further adds that Ivey hasn’t been around for 25 years and ended the video on that note. Well, Dnegs did not let this opportunity go by and took a dig at Hellmuth for everyone to see.
