Actors like Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck and Leonardo DiCaprio were also once a part of Bloom’s high stakes poker games. So what happened suddenly that everyone wants to know more about her? She appeared on a podcast called the Diary of a CEO. 

Bloom dropped bombs and made it very clear that she was not afraid anymore of talking about what really happened back in the day. In the year 2014, Bloom, a former waitress in Los Angeles, pleaded guilty for conducting illegal poker games.

Her downfall had begun much earlier in 2010 when she was fined $116,133 when she failed to pay taxes on the events she hosted in New York. Bloom was reportedly arrested by 17 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officers who were looking into the ponzi scheme running in her poker circle. 

Bloom was facing a fine of $1.5 Million, 10 years prison time and six years of supervision after prison release and $200 for special assessment. 

Bloom had nothing going for her when the time turned against her. Bloom wrote a book called Molly’s Game and her story was also made into a film in 2017 starring Jessica Chastian as the lead character. 

Molly Bloom’s appearance in the latest podcast may just lead to her grabbing headlines again. When asked about her learning from her past life, Bloom mentioned how she saw people losing money in poker who took impulsive risks. 

She also mentioned that people who took calculated risks and did not let their past failures get in the way survived ahead. Bloom married Devin Effinger and had a daughter named Fiona. She also launched her podcast called Torched in January 2020.
