Wednesday Roundup: Lakhotia, Lyndem, Sood, Patni, Kumar Secure Titles!


It was a smashing Wednesday night with lots of action all around. Several pros and regs of the country joined the field and claimed titles. The true star of the night was Banmanlang Warr Lyndem who took down two events last night on PokerBaazi. Destiny

One of the most popular and last night’s headlining Wednesday flagship event on Spartan Poker was Destiny INR 25 Lakhs GTD which pulled out 558 entries in search for the top prize. The entire tournament saw the creation of INR 27.90 Lakhs in prize pool, successfully crossing the assured guarantee. Outlasting the field and booking his seat in the Destiny SnG Finale was poker pro Manish Lakhotia aka ‘thekid’ who defeated ‘BiggBang’ in heads-up and bagged the title along with the cash prize.

Mega Freeze

A total of 100 runners joined the field of INR 3.5 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze. The INR 3,300 buy-in event kicked off last night at 9:30 pm on Spartan Poker. The top 15 finishers received a payout of INR 6,300 as min-cash. The final table was packed with regs but racing ahead of them all was ‘Norman Bates’. The player defeated ‘resuror’ heads-up and pocketed the winner’s cheque.

The Pride

Wednesday flagship tourney of PokerBaazi boasted INR 10 Lakhs GTD in The Pride and registered 324 entries. The heads-up play took place between two well-known regs Banmanlang Warr Lyndem aka ‘bml2012’ and Arsh Grover aka ‘Button_Hai_Bro’, the former eventually came out on top to win INR 2.21 Lakhs while the latter added INR 1.55 Lakhs to his bankroll.

6-Max Wednesday SuperStack

The Wednesday SuperStack INR 3 Lakh GTD on PokerBaazi crowded the field by 160 entries, creating a slightly bigger prize pool of INR 3.20 Lakhs. Money reached the top 18 places and INR 4,192 was the minimum cash. After taking down, The Pride, the main attraction of the night, Banmanlang Warr Lyndem aka ‘bml2012’ captured the second title and secured INR 82,400 in top prize. He beat Abhishek Kumar aka ‘ketchup’ in heads-up who banked INR 57,700 for finishing second.

Monster Stack

Online grinder Gaurav Sood aka ‘gauravarod’ took down Monster Stack INR 10 Lakhs GTD on Adda52. Sood overcame a field of 169 runners and pocketed INR 2.70 Lakhs in prize money after outlasting ‘pokraj’ in heads-up. The latter captured the second place payout of INR 1.70 Lakhs. The top 17 players finished ITM securing INR 15,000.

Maverick

The primetime tourney on Adda52 was the INR 15 lakhs GTD Maverick that kicked of at 8 pm last night. Powering through the field to claim the latest title was poker pro Kunal Patni aka ‘KunalPatni’ who knocked out Sandeep Rajora aka ‘homelite’ in heads-up for INR 3.75 Lakhs in first prize. Rajora bagged INR 2.17 for runner-up finish.

Night on Stars

Like the other weekday flagships on PokerStars India, even the Wednesday popular Night on Stars pulled in a pretty good field. A total of 215 hopefuls clocked in to grab the largest share of INR 6 Lakhs GTD tourney. Climbing up the ladder was Bharat Kumar aka ‘hzgod’ who captured the first place cash prize of INR 1.17 Lakhs after defeating ‘gurudron92’ in heads-up. The latter earned INR 86,791 as runner-up payout.
