USOP Da Nang 2024 Part 1 ME: Ian Lee Takes The Top Spot


The coveted Main Event of the U Series of Poker (USOP) Da Nang 2024 Part 1 saw Ian Lee ship the coveted Main Event title for a sum of VND 7,120,000,000. The Malaysian player beat Phan Quang Thai from Vietnam. The runner-up added VND 4,916,000,000 to his bankroll for his second place finish.

USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 Main Event 

This marquee tournament had a buy-in of 30,000,000 (~USD 1,235) and an advertised guarantee of 15,000,000,000 (USD 614,500). The Main Event ran from 28th March to 1st April 2024, and saw a player field of 1,702 lock horns for the top spot. The impressive turnout for the Main Event led to the final prize pool settling at VND 44,575,300,000 (~USD 1,800,000). The top 213 players made it in the money.

Indians at USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 Main Event 

The prestigious Main Event of USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 witnessed poker pro Alok Birewar take the 9th spot for VND 712,800,000 (₹2,394,590). Other Indian players who finished in the money include names like Rishi Mehra (60th, VND 110,600,000), Amit Kaushik (155th, VND 58,900,000), Nishant Kishanlal Sharma (126th, VND 72,300,000), Dhaval Mudgal (159th, VND 58,900,000), Pradeep Nudurumati (189th, VND 52,100,0000) and Manish Lakhotia (162nd, VND 58,900,000). 

Dhaval Mudgal at USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 Main Event 

Pocket52 Team Pro shipped the Mystery Rush Bounty. The poker pro took a pay cheque of VND 293,000,000. Mudgal and the runner-up, Jun Li ended the tourney in a deal. Li, who’s from England, had a payday of VND 303,100,000.

Abhinav Iyer at USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 

India’s solo bracelet winner, Abhinav Iyer, made a mark in the Super High Roller tourney, by finishing fourth for a sum of VND 1,223,900,000 ($49,371).

Overall, the USOP 2024 Da Nang Part 1 proved to be a fruitful series for the Indian players. Players from the Asian continent are eagerly looking forward to the Part 2 of this massively popular live poker event.
