USOP Da Nang 2023: Chiraag Patel Ships The Closer

We have yet another Indian pro who registered his name in poker history. We are talking about well-known poker player Chiraag Patel. He shipped Event 51, The Closer at the U Series Of Poker (USOP) Da Nang 2023 for VND 223,800,000.

This player chopped the prize money evenly but was able to secure the title and trophy for himself. The second place was taken by Sukumar Letchmunan for VND 223,800,000. Patel was among the 187 (140 unique) total entries who battled for the top prize.

The final prize pool of The Closer stood at VND 1,088,300,000 (~$44,830). This event came with a buy-in of VND 6,600,000 (~$279) and paid the top 23 places.

The starting stack given in this tournament was 20K with levels lasting for 25 minutes. With an advertised guarantee of VND 500 Million, players who participated made sure the battle to win the coveted title was a tough one.

Apart from Patel, two other Indians made the money in this event. Online and live reg Deepankur Gupta and PokerBaazi G.O.A.T. 2023 winner Arun Vijay Mutgi also grabbed cash prizes in The Closer. Gupta added VND 11,800,000 to his bankroll for his 21st place finish. Mutgi had a payday of VND 9,600,000 for claiming the 22nd position.

Talking about the Indian title holders, Patel is the fourth player to secure a victory. The winning spree started with Amit Kaushik (Turbo), Vinay B (Mystery Rush Bounty), Rohit Begwani (Hyper Turbo) and finally Patel secured the top spot in The Closer. The series can definitely be a memorable one with many Indian players claiming cashes across tournaments during the Asian series.
