The year 2020 has been tough for the entire world, right from the COVID-19 pandemic to a tragic loss in the gaming sphere now. Popular Hearthstone and World of Warcraft streamer Bryon Bernstein widely known as “Reckful” has passed away at the age of 31. Reckful’s ex-girlfriend professional Teamfight Tactics player and streamer Rebecca “Becca” Cho took to the social media to reveal, “Yes, it’s him, He’s gone.”
The former e-sports player had about 936K followers on Twitch. In World of Warcraft, Bernstein finished rank one online for six seasons in succession. He was the first person to reach 3,000 rating and won Major League Gaming’s World of Warcraft tournament in 2010. Reckful’s final posts on Twitter from the last few hours do seem to indicate some sort of distress, but the overwhelming sentiment is that no one saw this coming at all, and the gaming community is heartbroken over the loss.
According to his Twitter handle, Bernstein also appeared to propose to his girlfriend house before passing away. “I know I’ll always be a little to crazy… and this is proof… but at least you’ll never be bored. Will you marry me, Becca?”

DO NOT make her feel pressured to say yes, i am completely insane here
i have not seen her in 6 months.
the reason for the post is
I know she’s the one i want forever, and I wanted her to know my commitment is real

Becca later reacted to the proposal titled “RIP July 2, 2020.” Cho stated, “He brought me to realize that I knew NOTHING about depression, NOTHING about mental health issues. I had this vague idea of what it was and embarrassingly thought that I could help with trivial bulls—” wrote Cho.
The former esports pro frequently discussed his mental health on podcasts and on his streams, where he revealed he dealt with depression and bipolar disorder. “We’re devastated to hear of Byron’s passing,” Twitch said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his family, friends and community. He was a streaming pioneer and helped propel the whole industry forward. The communities he cultivated in the games he played were forever changed by his relentless pursuit of excellence.”
“Byron was someone who talked about his struggles to help make room for others to do the same. As we process this loss, we have to recognize that the stigma around mental health and treatment often prevents people from seeking and getting the help they need. If you’re struggling or know someone who is, there are many organizations and people who want to help.”
Also considered world’s most popular Hearthstone streamer, Reckful wasn’t new to poker world either. In 2017, hit the virtual felt killing it in Pot Limit Omaha. Another popular streamer Joey Ingram loved his action and strategy that Reckful discussed while running back the replay of the hand.

Bernstein played poker and entered the 2016 Unibet Open London Main Event, but was knocked out early. In November 2017, he played in a charity poker event sponsored by PokerGO. The poker community has been shocked by his demise and have also expressed their grief.
Absolute tragedy. RIP Reckful…

RIP to the streaming legend @Byron
Depression sucks and I couldn't imagine putting as much as myself as some streamers do out there for the world to see and having people tell you a whole bunch of terrible things in return. Seems like it's only getting worse and worse.

Having a certain level of attention + feeling that way can't a very good thing.
You can look to your audience to give you feedback on how you are feeling/thinking & have to deal w/ opinions from people who don't care at all about you in anyway & don't think about what they say.

I'm in shock. RIP Reckful. What an incredibly sad day.
Please reach out when you feel like there is no way out. People will be there for you and there are people that want to listen. You're not in this alone, and it's not your fault.
Fuck =[ ♥️♥️♥️

Bernstein’s competitive success built him a reputation online, which he converted into a successful streaming career on Twitch. At the time of his death his channel had nearly 1 million followers and was ranked 783rd among top creators on the site, according to TwitchTracker. He had been working as a developer on his own video game, ‘Everland,’ which was set to release later this year.
