Triton Poker Cyprus 2022 saw the $100K NLH Main Event (ME) ending in Punnat Punsri shipping the title for a jaw-dropping sum of $2,600,000. The ME title literally fell into Punsri’s lap after the blink-and-miss heads-up clash against Wayne Heung. The terribly short-lived heads-up saw Punsri going all-in with A ♣ 8 ❤ and his rival following suit with A ❤ 9 ♣. All this went down on the third hand of the heads-up battle, and a special shoutout should be given to Heung who made a commendable comeback after being the shortest stack when the game progressed as a three-handed one.
The dominos kept falling one after the other. The first casualty on the FT was Horace Wei who walked away with $280K in his bank account. This was followed by Artem Vezhenkov who left at the 8th spot for $366K. Artur Martirosian, Gregoire Auzoux, Jason Koon, and Henrik Hecklen took the pathway leading to the exit door with their respective pay cheques of $470K, $595K, $762K, and $946K.

Wiktor Malinowski played a brutal hand against Punsri and got punished by the poker gods in a way that will not allow him to sleep for a good number of days. Malinowski aka ‘Limitless’ ended up saying, “Bye bye money.” In a Big Slick (Malinowski) versus Dimes (Punsri), the premium hand failed so miserably that onlookers felt a chill running down their spine. When blinds were at $75K/$150K, big blind ante $150K, Punsri raised to $300K, Heung folded and Malinowski 3-bet 1,125,000. The player who’s 2nd on Thailand’s All Time Money list shoved 10.3 million chips into the pot giving his rival in the hand, the shock of his life.

Malinowski did not take it down and made the call whilst keeping faith in his As Kh. With 20, 900,000 chips floating dangerously in the inflated pot, Punsri came out as the rich man when the board fanned out J ♦ 8 ❤ J ❤ 6 ❤ 8 ♣. It was as if the stars were properly aligned for Malinowski to be eliminated at the third spot. Even though he continued to play, he did not last long as a man could only do so much with 2BB left in his armoury. The Polish player left the table after finishing 3rd for a payday of $12,10,000.
Whoa what just happened?! 3 remaining, @Limitless_poker and Punsri both get it in for HEAPS!

Honestly, there wasn’t much left for spectators as it was endgame on the third hand of the heads-up session. With blinds still at $75K/$150K, big blind ante $150K, Punsri took the all-in route with Ac 8h for 21.2 million and his rival followed suit with 3,400,000, making the pot size stand at 6,950,000. The ME, which had 99 entries, saw the cool, calm and composed Punsri win when the community cards fell 3h 3s 8d Ks 7c. With two pairs (88, 33), the heads-up chip lead took the ME down (hook, line and sinker)! The winner of the coveted Triton Poker Cyprus 2022 ME received a bomb prize money of $2,600,000, while the runner-up added $18,25,000 to his wealth.
