Thursday Round Up: Myron Pereira, Shardul Parthasarathi, Kartik Ved & More Clinched Top Titles


With the weekend fast approaching, high-value tournaments flooded the online poker felts. Brands like Spartan Poker, PokerBaazi, and PokerStars were giving players amazing opportunities to win big. Yesterday, the poker action reached its peak with many pros battling it out for the top spots. Here’s a complete report on the action that unfolded yesterday. 

The Big Deal – ₹30 Lakh GTD

Spartan Poker welcomed 165 total entries in this tournament. Top 17 places were paid, and the competition was fierce as it was a high-value event with a buy-in of ₹22,000. The initial guarantee was crushed and the final prize pool stood at ₹33,00,000. The min-cash at this tourney stood at ₹51,810.

After a long and intense grind, player Ankit Khattar aka ‘Asymptote05’ shipped the tournament. He added ₹7,30,139 to his bankroll. Meanwhile, the second place was claimed by Mohit Dhingra aka ‘Bigfox’ who went home with ₹6,61,140 in prize money.

Among those who finished in the money were players Vinayak Bajaj (3rd, ₹3,64,650), Siddhanth Kripalani (4th, ₹3,01,950), Vishal Bajaj (5th, ₹2,43,540), Adda52 Game ambassador Kunal Patni (8th, ₹1,10,550), December 2020 Millionaire Series champion Ashutosh Balodhi (13th, ₹59,400). 

While many online regs like Nitin Arora (22nd), Vivek Singh (27th), Anujkumar Kodam (29th), WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved (32nd), IOPC July 2021 leaderboard winner Anuj Yadav (33rd), IOPC July 2021 Legends runner-up, Arsh Grover (34th), Gaurav Sood (36th), IOPC January 2021 Main Event winner Laksh Pal Singh (37th), poker coach Abhishek Goindi (41st), and IOPC July 2021 commentator Kanchan Sharma (59th) were among those who left empty-handed.

Trending Thursday – ₹20 Lakh GTD

This event was a major hit on Spartan Poker with many online players slogging hard to nail the title. The tourney attracted 475 total entries. This ₹5,500 buy-in tournament also managed to crush its initial guarantee and the final prize pool stood at ₹23,75,000. The top 39 places made it in the money. The min-cash paid at this tourney was ₹16,387.

Myron Pereira aka ‘Zzzzz369’ clinched the winning title and took home a paycheque of ₹4,76,187. The runner-up was Avneesh Munjal aka ‘IamAM’ who took home ₹3,16,587 in prize money.

Players like Vishnu Khandelwal (8th, ₹59,850), Siddarth Singhvi (9th, ₹49,637), two-time IOPC leaderboard topper Bhanu Prakash (11th, ₹41,562), IOPC July 2021 commentator Kanchan Sharma (13th, ₹36,337), Vinayak Bajaj (21st, ₹23,275), Kunal Patni (23rd, ₹23,275), Arsh Grover (25th, ₹20,900), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (28th, ₹18,525), Siddhanth Kripalani (29th, ₹18,525), Alok Pawar (30th, ₹18,525), and Vikranth Varma (33rd, ₹16,387) finished in the money.

Players who did not make it in the money were Sanket Arora (41st), FTS 2.0 Kick-Off winner Gaurav Sood (43rd), Ashish Ahuja (51st), IOPC July 2021 Legends winner Amit Gehani (58th), Nitin Arora (60th), IOPC July 2021 Blaze of Glory winner Harshad Barve (63rd), The Big Deal winner Ankit Khattar (68th), and Rohan Bhasin (73rd).

The Summit – ₹15 Lakh GTD

PokerBaazi was back with their Summit event that had an advertised guarantee of ₹15 Lakh. The initial guarantee was crushed by an impressive margin and the final prize pool stood at ₹17,55,000. The tournament had a buy-in of ₹8,250 and 234 total entries. Top 27 places made it in the money and the min-cash paid was ₹14,570.

Ultimately, it was online reg Shardul Parthasarathi aka ‘duuurrrr’ who shipped this tournament after defeating Dhinesh Kumar aka ‘Dhineshrocky007.’ Parthasarathi cashed ₹4,13,000 and Kumar added ₹2,90,000 to his bankroll.

Siddhanth Kripalani (5th, ₹1,04,000), Harsh Dembla (6th, ₹82,640), Mithun Mahesh (11th, ₹30,190), Kanchan Sharma (13th, ₹24,750), Gutshot’s April 2021 e-magazine cover star Siddharth Karia (15th, ₹24,750), Nitin Arora (18th, ₹21,060), IOPC January 2020 Millionaire Main Event winner, Anurag Srivastava (19th, ₹18,430), Manish Lakhotia (22nd, ₹16,500), and Sreekanth Narayan (26th, ₹14,570) were among those who made it in the money.

Online reg Ashish Munot was the bubble boy in this tournament. Munot claimed the 28th spot. Others like Vishnu Khandelwal (32nd), Suraj N Yadav (38th), Myron Pereira (42nd), Kartik Ved (45th), IOPC January 2021 winner, Laksh Pal Singh (47th), Sanat Mehrotra (50th), Chirag Sodha (51st), Ritwik Khanna (53rd), and Gaurav Sood (55th) sadly did not make any money.

Highroller – ₹12 Lakh GTD

This event on PokerStars had 140 entries fighting hard for an impressive prize pool. With a buy-in of ₹7,700, this tournament witnessed a lot of poker action. However, in the end, only the top 17 places were paid. A min-cash of ₹19,818 was paid at this tourney. WSOP bracelet winner Kartik Ved aka ‘TheInternetKid’ won this Highroller and took home ₹2,51,882 in prize money.

Vishal Bajaj (5th, ₹91,704), Amit Kaushik (7th, ₹55,333), Akshay Kapoor (8th, ₹42,982), Harsh Dembla (9th, ₹35,418), Anmol Mehta (10th, ₹29,186), Vaibhav Sharma (12th, ₹24,050), Gaurav Sood (13th, ₹24,050), Ashish Ahuja (14th, ₹19,818), Partho Datta (16th, ₹19,818), and Manish Lakhotia (17th, ₹19,818) were placed in the top 17 spots. Devang Yadav bubbled in the 18th position for no money.
