The mid-week mania intensified on the online felts as poker players flooded high-value tournaments in droves. The Millionaire Series on Spartan Poker continued to grab eyeballs with its mega-events while Thursday special tournaments on Adda52, PokerBaazi, and PokerStars were hosted as usual. The day ended with pro players like Laksh Pal Singh, Ankit Bajaj, Dhiraj Lakhotia taking down top titles. Here’s a complete recap of the action.
With an epic guarantee of ₹65 Lakh, many high-stakes players could not resist the Millionaire Series Highroller on Spartan Poker. The tournament which had a prize money of ₹10 Lakh for the first-place winner, welcomed a total of 267 entries. The buy-in stood at ₹27,500 and the advertised guarantee was surpassed. The final prize pool generated was ₹66,75,000. Players who finished in the top 30 places were paid. The min-cash given was an eye-popping figure of ₹46,725.
After a gruelling grind, the title spot was clinched by mystery player ‘Zeusneverlose’ who bagged prize money of ₹15,04,738. Finishing in the runner-up position was player Subhojit Roy aka ‘subhojitR’ who walked home with ₹13,65,511.
The Millionaire Series #17 drew in 917 entries and had a buy-in of ₹990. The event saw many enthusiastic players aiming to get the lion’s share of the ₹9 Lakh prize pool. In the end, the top 87 players made the money with Rahul Lal aka ‘Vasili Arkhipov’ grabbing the top spot for ₹1,41,906. Lal and runner-up ‘Pure Vegetarian’ struck a deal that left the mystery player with ₹1,37,723 in prize money. The min-cash of the tournament stood at ₹2,790.
The Godfather is an Adda52 classic and welcomed a total of 471 entries on Thursday night. The buy-in of the ₹25 Lakh guarantee event was ₹5,500. Those who finished in the top 49 spots finished in the money. The min-cash stood at ₹13,750. Pro player Ankit Bajaj aka ‘imluckbox’ shipped the tournament and added ₹5,41,420 to his bankroll. In the runner-up position was poker veteran Guneet Kwatra aka ‘guntz’ who received ₹4,33,580 in prize money.
The Summit on PokerBaazi attracted 214 total entries to the field. 27 players finished in the money. The ₹8,250 buy-in tournament generated a prize pool of ₹16,05,000 which surpassed the initial guarantee of ₹15 Lakh. The min-cash was ₹13,320. Sitting in the winner’s seat was online reg Dhiraj Lakhotia aka ‘supernuts’ who took a pay day of ₹3,40,000. Fellow poker player Ritwik Khanna aka ‘Ritwikkhanna’ was the runner-up and received ₹3,02,000 in prize money.
PokerStars’ Highroller tournament had a guarantee of ₹10 Lakh and a buy-in of ₹7,700. A total of 127 entries joined the battlefield and played until the early hours of the morning. Out of the 127 entries, only the top 15 finished in the money. The min-cash was ₹18,793. The tournament ended in a deal between IOPC January 2021 winner Laksh Pal Singh aka ‘B00MTilt23’ and Ayush Garg aka ‘Kyanaamrakhu.’ Both took home prize money of ₹1,94,043 each.
