TGIF: Srihari Bang begins his weekend well on Spartan

Every Friday, Spartan Poker hosts a couple of featured tournaments on their platform including a higher value tournament called Elite (won by Siddarth Singhvi) and TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) INR 7 Lakh GTD which has a smaller buy-in and a smaller prize pool too.

Kicking off at 7:30pm last evening, a total field of 323 entries combined to play this popular tournament, each putting up the buy-in of INR 2,200 to participate. It was a 6+ hour grind which ended at 1:39am and by the end of the night, this tournament also had to come to an end with a heads-up deal.

While both players had similar stacks, Srihari Bang aka ‘bangbang99’ had a slightly bigger chip count, which gave him the bigger prize of INR 1,26,945 and the TGIF title. Finishing second officially but also winning a similar prize of INR 1,20,784 was ‘whosenoseblose’ and both these players would’ve had a great start to their weekend.

INR 6,160 was the minimum cash prize of the tournament which went out to the top 31 players and among the cashes were a few Spartan Poker regulars. This included Sumit Sapra aka ‘holla@yoboy’ (7th), Faiz Alam aka ‘DrStrange’ (6th), Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ (4th) and others. As for the winner, he has quite a few big wins on this platform in the past, which you can see here.

With most of our Indian pros in Las Vegas or travelling there at the moment for the 2019 World Series of Poker, the fields in most online tournaments are softer than usual. Many new winners may emerge in the days to come, allowing them to bank big as we approach the Sunday grind tomorrow.
