Shivam Shukla Leads The Chip Counts In DPT Grand 2024 Highroller Bracelet Event

Shivam Shukla could be up for adding his name to poker history at the DPT Grand 2024 series, which is happening at the Deltin Royale in Goa. As Day 1 of gameplay ended, he was the leader in chip counts, with more than 500K chips. This places him in a comfortable enough spot, but not far behind him is Shardul Parthasarathy with 508,000. The event itself has some pretty famous poker players in the fray.

Kanchan Sharma is the only female poker player who’s in the top 10 chip holder’s list right now. Kunal Patni is also on the chip list with a stack of 174,000, ranking 20th currently. With so many prolific poker players in the fray, this bracelet even could turn out to be an intense one. After all, only a handful of DPT bracelets have been coveted as yet. The first winner was Sagar Raj, who shipped the DPT Grand Rush and took home ₹18 Lakh.

The other names further down the list include Karan Sitlani, with 128,000 chips, and Chirag Sodha, who has 124,000 chips lined up. Our June 2024 magazine edition cover star Zarvan Tamboli is also sitting pretty with 58,000 chips. It remains to be seen who gets to see championship glory. Sodha shipped the Mystery Bounty event a while ago.

This could be a big break for Shukla, who has been playing for a while and saw his first cash in 2019 at the ₹14,500 No Limit Hold’em event of the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) in Goa. Since then, he has seen money in series set on foreign shores, including Poker Dream 8 and WPT Cambodia in 2024. This year has been a good year for Shulka, what with him shipping $ 175 + 25 Pot Limit Omaha – Hyper Turbo (Event #30) at World Poker Tour – WPT Cambodia Championship, Phnom Penh, taking home $3,455. He also shipped the ₱720,000 No Limit Hold’em – Hyper Turbo (Event #11), taking home $748 at the HSOP Championship. It remains to be seen if he can ship one more title this year. DPT Grand is powered by Adda52 and is one of the most premium events that attract poker players from all over India and the world.

DPT has had several events through the years and has been the playground for some of the most popular poker players. In 2024,  the tournament went on for a week, from 21st to 27th May. Gera Abraham was the Main Event Champion back then.
