Card Player, the popular poker magazine, published their latest issue featuring Daniel Weinman on the cover. The poker pro won the $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship title at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He pocketed the $12,100,000 prize money after claiming the title of Main Event champion.
Apart from Weinman’s win, the cover lines featured Josh Arieh’s sixth WSOP bracelet and Iam Matakis claiming the WSOP Player of the Year title. Shaun Deeb, who also won his sixth WSOP bracelet was not mentioned and that was pointed out X (formerly Twitter). It seemed like Card Player ignored Deeb’s achievement and did not add his name.
Deeb wrote in his post, “Seems card player magazine has a bone to pick with these subtle needles on the cover might declare war soon.”

He was quite pissed at the magazine for their actions as Arieh entered the comments section to rub salt in the wounds. He commented on Shaun Deeb’s post. He said, “🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ know your role as bottom member of OMC (old man coffee).”

One thing is for sure, the conversation could get fiery with Arieh messing with Deeb’s ego with such a comment. It is also worth noting that Shaun Deeb is ahead of Josh Arieh in Hendon Mob’s All Time Money List. At the time of writing, Deeb holds the 95th spot on the list with $ 12,340,980 in total live earnings.

Arieh is slotted just a spot below Deeb, in the 96th place, scoring $12,189,454 in total live earnings. With just over $150,000 separating the two on the All Time Money List, it remains interesting to see who will be ranked higher by the end of 2023.
As for Arieh, the OMC jibe was a bit too much. Having scored his sixth bracelet win in WSOP 2023 Deeb wasn’t wrong in highlighting why his name was dropped. Card Player hasn’t issued any comment stating their reason to skip Deeb’s name and only keeping Arieh’s. And for Deeb, it was only natural that he will hit back if he has a point to make.
