Shaun Deeb Disappointed In Daniel Negreanu’s WSOP 2024 Schedule?

Daniel Negreanu is one of the world’s most well-known poker players. The Canadian shared a YouTube video a few weeks ago, looking at his results from 2023 and sharing how he lost over $2 million, making it the “worst year” of his career.

Following a poor string of results in 2023 ‘KidPoker’ recorded a $2,228,174 loss last year. Negreanu spoke about his plan for WSOP, which saw him state the idea of playing fewer tournaments and only playing when he feels like it.

The idea seemingly worked for him as the GGPoker ambassador started off 2024 with a victory in PGT Last Chance Event #1: $10,100 NL Hold’em. He topped the 91-entry field and got the better of Daniel Smiljkovic in heads-up play to win $218,400.

After the win, Negreanu shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated World Series of Poker (WSOP) and claimed how he plans to keep his WSOP 2024 live schedule the lightest in over a decade.

Citing the same, the six-time WSOP bracelet winner said he would participate in 31 potential events while choosing quality over quantity, taking more days off to rest, and opting against spending energy on smaller events. Check out his tweet on his potential WSOP schedule.

Shaun Deeb engaged in the conversation and asked DNegs and said, “Disappointed to see this, hopefully the itch gets you mid series maybe I have to win another poy to motivate you to bring out your a game for grinding.” (sic)

Responding to the same, Negreanu said “Nah, I said it in my video I will not be chasing POY as it is currently constructed. Good luck to you and the fellow grinders out there but never again will I be in a $10k with a laptop playing two online events and Short Deck.”

It remains interesting to see what the future holds for the Canadian poker pro and the number of events he will participate in at the upcoming WSOP 2024.
